SAATI Americas is a global manufacturer of advanced technical textiles, membranes, and specialty chemicals, serving markets such as protective materials, composites, and industrial printing. This role supports SAATI’s Protection operations by ensuring safe, efficient, and on-time production performance.
The Protection Operations Manager is responsible for managing warping, weaving, and finishing production operations across two shifts, ensuring safe, consistent, and efficient output that meets SAATI Americas customer requirements for quality, delivery, and performance.
Role and Responsibilities
- Leads activities of production operators, assigns daily tasks, motivates and drives efficiencies.
- Manages production schedules to meet customer delivery and stock level requirements
- Subject Matter Expert in weaving, fabric construction, and troubleshooting
- Interfaces with Planner and Buyers on material status and production planning.
- Requisitions and/or purchases reeds and other parts required to maintain looms.
- Develops maintenance plan for all department equipment and coordinates activities with SAATI Americas Fountain Inn Facilities Maintenance.
- Verifies work orders and confirms operations through SAP, assuring accurate consumption of raw materials and accurate finished products are reflected in SAP.
- Maintains a clean, efficient and safe work environment by creating standard processes, organizing work area and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Creates goals and expectations, including developmental plans, for area personnel and supports its execution.
- Leads the resolution of issues by conducting error / root-cause investigations and suggests corrective actions.
- Ensure effective employee relations by providing coaching and development and resolving issues.
- Ensure Department personnel follow all safety policies, rules, and guidelines; including attendance to training and meetings and participation in Safety & Process Improvement Projects.
- Open, thorough, professional, positive communications with personnel at all levels in the organization to effectively manage resources.
- Other tasks assigned by Director of Operations and/or SAATI Americas Fountain Inn Leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or its equivalent with 3-5 years of experience with weaving and warping or in a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of direct supervisory experience
- Must be computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, and SAP
- Track record of strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions based on data analysis
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong Leadership skills with emphasis on teamwork and collaboration
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Experience with weaving and/or warping aramid fiber, preferably with rapier head Dornier looms
- Experience with sectional warping
- Experience with Dornier Rapier Looms
- Knowledge and experience using SAP
