Greenfield Engineering, a Saalex Company is seeking Junior Software Developer in Patuxent River, MD to support mission-critical DoD programs through the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software solutions. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in computer science, hands-on development experience, and familiarity with real-time systems to contribute to secure, scalable applications in a collaborative environment.
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $75k-$85k annually (depending on experience)
Work Location: Onsite.
Essential Functions:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications using modern programming practices
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in C/C and other object-oriented languages
- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects to ensure system reliability and performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement technical solutions
- Support system enhancements by adding new features and optimizing existing functionality
- Contribute to software testing efforts, including unit testing and integration testing
- Assist with version control, build pipelines, and deployment activities
- Other duties as assigned or required
Required:
- Experience developing in C, C , C#, and/or Java
- Experience working in object orientation
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Experience with debugging, testing, and maintaining applications
Desired:
- Experience with Ada95/98
- Experience with real-time operating systems
- Familiarity with Mission Systems Avionics
- Knowledge of military narrowband communications
Education/Years of Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Engineering discipline (must be a completed, accredited degree) required.
- 1–3 years of relevant professional or internship experience in software development
Security Clearance:
Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain a Top Secret Yankee White clearance required. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.
