What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Public Relations Manager position at SA Communications?
About SA Communications
SA Communications is the specialist communications agency for the boldest names in health, wellness, beauty and medical aesthetics. We build a curated portfolio of brands who want their PR to actually move the needle, from category disruptors to global names like Colgate and L'Oréal. Voted UK's Best Beauty PR Agency 2025, we combine sharp creative thinking with integrated strategy to build visibility and credibility in some of the most competitive, scrutinised markets there are. Every member of our team works hands-on with clients. This isn't an agency where you disappear into an account list.
The Role
We're looking for a Senior PR Manager to lead PR strategy and execution across our health, wellness, beauty and medical aesthetics roster. This is a full-time, remote role for someone who wants to run campaigns, not just manage them, from the first pitch to the final piece of coverage.
You'll own the press strategy for a portfolio of clients: developing press materials, driving day-to-day media outreach, and building the kind of relationships with journalists, editors and influencers that get a brand covered before anyone pitches it. You'll plan and deliver integrated communications campaigns, land thought-leadership opportunities, and keep coverage tracked and tied back to what your clients actually care about.
Day to day, that looks like: drafting press releases and pitches that editors actually want to open, briefing spokespeople before they go in front of a journalist or a camera, counselling clients through both the wins and the tricky moments, leading on crisis and issues communications when they arise, and working closely with the wider team to make sure PR is never operating in a silo from the rest of the marketing plan.
What You'll Bring
- Strong PR and strategic communications skills, with a track record of building and running full PR campaigns, not just executing someone else's plan
- Real media relations knowledge, genuine relationships with press, not just a media list, and a history of landing coverage in outlets that matter
- The ability to write press releases and pitches that are sharp, targeted, and built for the specific journalist or channel you're sending them to
- Excellent communication skills across the board: confident, clear writing; polished presentation; and the professionalism to be client-facing from day one
- Experience in health, wellness, beauty or medical aesthetics is a strong advantage - bonus points if you already understand the regulatory nuance that comes with the aesthetics space
- Proven ability to work independently and remotely, juggle multiple accounts, and hold your own in a fast-paced environment without dropping a deadline
- Comfort with PR measurement tools, media monitoring platforms and basic analytics, you should be able to tell a client why a campaign worked, not just that it did
- A Bachelor's degree in Communications, PR, Journalism, Marketing or a related field, or the equivalent earned through experience
