Front Desk Manager – Hotel Opening Experience Required

Sitio–El Tropicano is preparing to reopen one of San Antonio’s most iconic hotels, and we are seeking an accomplished Front Desk Manager to help bring our Front Office operation to life.

This is not a traditional Front Desk Manager opportunity. We are looking for a confident, hands-on hospitality leader who has previously served as a Front Office Manager, Front Desk Manager, or comparable leader during a hotel opening or major reopening. The right candidate will understand how to move from planning to execution—developing procedures, preparing the team, testing systems, and establishing operational standards before welcoming the first guest.

What You’ll Help Build

You will partner with our Director of Rooms and hotel leadership to:

• Create and implement Front Office SOPs, checklists, workflows, and service standards.
• Prepare the Front Office for opening through system testing, room readiness planning, and operational rehearsals.
• Recruit, onboard, train, and develop Front Desk Agents, Night Auditors, and Guest Service Ambassadors.
• Establish strong communication and coordination between Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, Sales, and other departments.
• Build a culture of accountability, professionalism, teamwork, and exceptional service.
• Create personalized guest experiences that reflect our commitment to unreasonable hospitality.
• Lead daily Front Office operations following the hotel’s opening.

Our Ideal Candidate

You are an experienced hotel leader who enjoys building—not simply maintaining—an operation. You can create structure where none currently exists, anticipate opening challenges, train with confidence, and remain composed as priorities shift.

Previous hotel opening or major reopening experience in a Front Office leadership role is essential.

Experience within a luxury, lifestyle, boutique, resort, or independent hotel is strongly preferred. We are especially interested in candidates who have successfully developed SOPs, established service standards, trained opening teams, and supported the transition from pre-opening into daily operations.
