Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled, reliable Mechanic to join our Commercial Service team in Birmingham. In this role, you’ll perform mechanical, maintenance and repair tasks on a variety of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. You’ll work hands-on to help keep our commercial fleet and customer assets in top condition. Key Duties
- Diagnose, repair and maintain heavy-duty trucks, trailers and commercial vehicles.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance services.
- Mount, balance and install commercial tires and wheels; ensure proper torque, alignments, and road-worthiness.
- Conduct safety and DOT inspections, document deficiencies and complete required reports in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the service manager and parts team to ensure needed parts are ordered, stocked and used efficiently.
- Read and interpret repair manuals, schematics and manufacturer instructions; update repair logs correctly.

Requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a mechanic in a heavy-duty/commercial vehicle or fleet service environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to mount and service commercial tires or willingness to be trained.
- Ability to lift heavy components (50 lbs), use hand/power tools, work under vehicles and stand for extended periods.
- Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred (or willing to obtain) — clean driving record required.
- Reliable, self-motivated, with ability to manage time, prioritize jobs and work in a fast-paced service environment
- Willingness to work occasional nights, weekends or emergency calls when needed.
