What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head of Global Real Estate & Facilities Security Operations, Mobility - Onsite Reston, VA position at S&P Global Mobility?
The Role
Responsible for the strategic and operational management of worldwide physical infrastructure, including overseeing our office facility portfolio, managing construction and expansion projects, ensuring efficient daily operations, handling budgets, and building teams to support our business growth.
You can expect up to 20% international travel to key locations for expansion or consolidation projects. This role is based in Centreville, Virginia, with plans to relocate to Reston, Virginia, in 2026.
The Team
Operating in 22 countries with offices in APAC, North America (primarily Centerville VA and London, Ontario Canada), and EMEA, your role initially is to consider the long-term design of the team in partnership with the CAO who you will report to. Currently there are 6 support people in the UK and US as well as some people in Canada. Gurgaon will be a large site with an office in Bengaluru as well, with some offices in EMEA. In addition to your direct reports, you will work closely with the team managing the bill processing and budgeting/contracts.

Responsibilities And Impact
Responsibilities will include the strategic management of a company's entire physical property portfolio, including offices and other facilities. This top-level role involves optimizing property operations, ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance, and aligning real estate strategy with overall business goals through activities like site selection, lease management, and financial analysis. This role will require strong planning and financial skills to refine our portfolio of office spaces. Security Operations at the sites are critical, including contracts with guard services and transportations (in countries that require it) and contracts relating to cleaning and food services. Compliance with Health & Safety is also part of the role.
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $137,000 to $270,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.

- Strategic planning: Develop and implement long-term real estate strategies that align with overall business objectives and growth plans.
- Portfolio management: Oversee the entire global portfolio, including offices and other facilities, to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.
- Lease Management: In partnership with our Procurement Team, negotiate leases and managing relationships with landlords and external partners
- Financial management: Develop and manage real estate budgets, forecasts, and capital planning. This includes tracking occupancy expenses and ensuring projects are within budget.
- Transaction management: Manage all aspects of property transactions, such as acquisitions, leasing, lease renewals, and negotiations for new and existing properties.
- Reporting: Report monthly performance metrics and strategic updates to senior leadership, ensuring alignment with enterprise and budget goals
- Project and development oversight: Oversee property development projects, construction, and fit-outs, ensuring they meet business needs and timelines.
- Team and stakeholder leadership: Lead and mentor the global real estate and facilities teams, fostering a collaborative culture. This also involves managing relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners like brokers and vendors.
- Compliance and risk management: Ensure all real estate activities comply with local, national, and international regulations, laws, and company policies.
- Workplace strategy: Collaborate on designing and implementing modern workplace strategies that support employee experience and business needs, especially with the rise of hybrid work models.

What We’re Looking For
Basic Required Qualifications:
- 15 years in a corporate facilities and real estate senior management role, with a global footprint.
- Strong financial management skills for budget development and execution.
- Excellent negotiation and contracting skills. Must be able to understand unique needs of each location and demonstrate strong skills in negotiating large and complex lease agreements.
- Deep understanding of real estate principles, including valuation, market analysis, and site selection.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools, such as MS Office.
- Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans and manage complex projects.
- Experience with third party vendors and experience with facilities in India, EMEA, Malaysia, and North America.
- Excellent communication, and stakeholder management skills.
