Duties

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
• Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing behavior, and reporting any changes or concerns promptly
• Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) guidelines to ensure privacy and safety
• Support residents during meal preparation, feeding, and nutritional needs while maintaining a clean and safe environment
• Operate patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques to ensure safe movement of residents with mobility challenges
• Engage in patient monitoring for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer’s, autism, or other neurodevelopmental disorders to promote safety and comfort
• Maintain detailed documentation of care provided, resident progress, and adherence to resident’s rights and care plans
• Assist with housekeeping duties including cleaning resident areas to uphold hygiene standards in compliance with health regulations
• Provide transportation assistance for appointments or community outings using appropriate safety protocols
• Support residents in engaging in recreational activities that promote mental stimulation and social interaction

Skills

• Proven experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes or home health environments
• Strong knowledge of patient care techniques including medication administration, vital signs collection, and patient monitoring
• Familiarity with dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, and hospice or palliative care practices
• Ability to perform patient transfers safely using Hoyer lifts or other manual handling equipment
• Excellent communication skills for effectively engaging with residents, families, and team members
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to protect resident confidentiality at all times
• Experience assisting with ADLs such as bathing, dressing, grooming, meal prep and personal hygiene
• Ability to handle heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper manual handling techniques
• Skilled in observing patient behavior for signs of distress or changes in condition requiring immediate attention
• Capable of working independently as well as part of a team dedicated to compassionate caregiving
• CPR and First Aid certification required; ongoing training preferred in dementia care or neurodevelopmental support
• Familiarity with care planning processes and resident rights policies within long-term care settings

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
