Job Summary
We are seeking a Joint Use Coordinator to provide administrative and operational support for Engineering and Operations teams. This role is responsible for coordinating joint-use program activities, maintaining accurate records, supporting pole attachment requests, and ensuring compliance with applicable utility standards and regulations.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities while supporting engineering workflows and maintaining strong relationships with internal teams, utility partners, and external stakeholders.
Candidate must be based in Charlotte, NC. The position will start as remote and evolve into a flexible hybrid schedule (2 remote days, 3 in-office days) upon office opening.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support joint-use program activities to ensure compliance with applicable codes, policies, and procedures, including the National Electrical Safety Code.
- Create, maintain, and organize joint-use program records including inspections, permitting documentation, billing records, compliance verification, and pole attachment agreements.
- Review pole attachment requests with the engineering team and facilitate next steps for plan execution.
- Maintain databases and client interface systems by accurately processing and managing technical and administrative data.
- Communicate and coordinate with Engineering and Operations teams regarding joint-use notifications and project updates.
- Respond to internal and external customer inquiries with timely and accurate information.
- Maintain strong working relationships with internal teams, contractors, vendors, and external utility partners.
- Support special projects and additional duties as assigned to meet departmental and organizational goals.
- Ensure all work is completed efficiently while maintaining high standards of accuracy, organization, and compliance.
- May require completing tasks outside of your role description if additional support is needed across other teams & workstreams
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code and utility design and construction standards.
- Familiarity with third-party make-ready requests and the Joint-Pole Application (JPA) process.
- Knowledge of National Joint Utilities Notification System (NJUNS), SPANS and the Joint Facility Notification (JFN) process is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with AutoCAD is a plus.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, research, and analytical abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail and strong decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Professional discretion when handling confidential information.
- Experience with telecom project management tools such as Varasset, IQGeo, Sitetracker, or FROGS

Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree in an engineering-related field is preferred.
- Minimum two years of experience in an engineering, telecommunications, or utility environment.
- Must be able to pass a background check after a conditional offer of employment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in a stationary position for extended periods.
- Frequent use of computers and technology devices to review, create, and transmit documentation and data.
- Regular handling of documents, office supplies, and business materials.

Pay: $23.00 - $31.00 per hour
