Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Asphalt Laborer to join our Asphalt Paving family. This role involves supporting asphalt paving projects and operating various heavy equipment on construction sites. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction, utility locating, and heavy equipment operation, with a focus on paving and roadwork. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects while developing valuable skills in the construction industry.
Responsibilities
- Assist with asphalt paving operations, including preparing the site and spreading materials.
- Perform utility locating to identify underground utilities before excavation or paving
- Help with site cleanup and material handling to maintain a safe work environment
- Collaborate with team members to ensure project timelines are met and quality standards are maintained
- Prepare surfaces, spread, rake and smooth hot asphalt using hand tools (shovels, rakes, tampers) and assist with the heavy machinery (pavers, rollers) for roads, driveways and parking lots.
Requirements
- Prior experience in asphalt paving preferred, but no necessary.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation including dozer, loader, backhoe, grader, front loader truck, and dump truck is a plus.
- Familiarity with utility locating and safety procedures on construction sites
- Physical stamina and strong work ethic to perform manual labor and operate heavy machinery for extended periods in all weather conditions.
- Valid experience or certification in construction site safety is advantageous.

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
