Summary

S.A. Morman is seeking an experienced full time Locksmith in our Keying department to join a fast-paced and team working environment. The Locksmith will play a vital role in the Keying department and will possess a strong understanding of lock mechanisms, different emergency situations, and key cutting techniques. As a Locksmith, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our clients by ensuring their security needs are met efficiently and effectively. This position will be primarily working in the field on a day-to-day basis.

Responsibilities

· Keying and re-keying locks in the shop and in the field

· Cutting and duplicating keys

· Ensuring work spaces are kept clean and organized for safety and efficiency

· Record additions to orders so they can be accounted for when they return

· Work on department projects as needed

· Perform inventory management with weekly cycle counts in the van, taking stock

from the shop to the van, and organizing and labeling inventory

· Perform weekly counts on non-inventory materials to ensure shop operation

· Calibrating and adjusting locksmith tools and machinery

· Performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting van equipment

· Be able to find and effectively use files in our physical and digital file library

· Maintain physical key records effectively by recording changes made to paper files

· Maintain digital key records

· Complete shop orders for work completed

· Write simple sale orders for keys that need to be cut and locks that need to be

keyed

Qualifications

· Proven experience as a locksmith is mandatory. Additional specific training will be

provided if needed

· Commercial locksmith experience preferred

· Principles and practices related to facility security and communication systems

· Strong problem solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of

a team

· Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and understand

their security requirements

· Accuracy and efficiency in keying and duplicating keys

· Effective management and organization of inventory

· Timeliness and thouroughness in performing calibration and maintenance tasks

· Overall contribution to the productivity and safety of the department

· Other job duties as needed
