Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical systems, machine assemblies, and custom automation equipment using 3D CAD software.
- Create detailed engineering drawings, assembly documentation, and bills of materials for manufacturing and production.
- Perform mechanical calculations, component selection, and tolerance analysis to ensure reliable and efficient system performance.
- Collaborate with robotics, controls, and electrical engineers to integrate mechanical designs into complete automation systems.
- Work with fabrication and assembly teams to support manufacturing, troubleshoot design issues, and implement engineering improvements.
- Evaluate prototypes, conduct testing, and make design modifications based on performance and customer requirements.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
- Assist with project planning, design reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Stay current with advancements in mechanical design, manufacturing processes, materials, and automation technologies.
Experience
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar mechanical design platforms.
- Experience creating detailed mechanical drawings, assemblies, and bills of materials.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, machining, fabrication, and mechanical assembly practices.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and mechanical specifications.
- Experience designing custom machinery, automation equipment, conveyors, fixtures, or industrial systems is highly desirable.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
