Security Guard Responsibilities:
- As a security guard, you will patrol the property, securing personnel, the facility, residents, and the perimeter.
- You will investigate and take the appropriate lawful action, as directed by the company, any accidents, incidents, trespassing, suspicious activities, and safety issues.
- You will communicate with law enforcement, emergency medical personnel, and fire departments in an effective manner.
- You will immediately respond to any situations of import concerning safety.
- Check staff and visitor identification prior to entrance to the facility.
- Ensure all visitors sign in and out on the appropriate log.
- Prevent any unauthorized access to the facility.
- Security is expected to walk the parameters of the facility in random intervals.
- Effectively communicate with all levels of program staff regarding client, staff or facility safety needs.
- Must maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding client information.
- Must have the ability to remain calm, take command, provide guidance, make sound, independent decisions, and resolve conflicts during security incidents and emergency situations.
- If a patient elopes from the facility, Security is expected to follow them to keep them safe until assistance from staff arrives.
Security Guard Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent certification.
- 20-hour State of Illinois security course required.
- Registered as a security officer, preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly developed de-escalation skills preferred.
