Ryobi Die Casting (USA) is looking for a talented automotive Product Engineer to join our team.
As a Product Engineer / Advanced Engineer, you will be working as a critical interface between our automotive customers’ design teams and the Ryobi manufacturing team to create the best possible product for all.
What will you do?
For the Product Engineer / Advanced Engineer to ensure success, the candidate should have excellent analytical skills, time/task management, and automotive part design for manufacturability skills. The ability to use a CAD software to make the ideas come to life is a very useful tool when communicating to the team. Preference will be given to candidates with automotive powertrain or body-in-white experience. An ideal candidate will have aluminum high pressure die casting experience.
- Organize, create, and discuss with customers, suppliers, and internal engineering teams to determine best part design for manufacturability, function and quality.
- Organize the interfaces with Customer to receive consensus on part design proposals.
- Create Design proposals within 3D to best communicate and present the improvements.
- During discussion with all teams, costs and return on investments must also be a consideration for each team’s perspective.
- Managing product design, part specifications, engineering changes, CAE reports and functional requirements.
- Provide support to Ryobi departments on issues pertaining to customer tooling, part specifications, and part function.
- Assist in program specific documentation maintenance (2D prints, 3D models, specifications, etc.).
- Adhere to multiple project and customer timelines.
- Support the core team through APQP (Advanced Part and Quality Planning) and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process).
- Support technical review of existing products.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

What are the qualifications?
Education
4-year technical degree - Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology Degree or Similar
Experience
4-7 years’ experience as a product engineer (automotive preferred)
Skills & Competencies
- Use of 3D CAD (SOLIDWORKS or NX Preferred)
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to translate ideas into visualization (via CAD or other means)
- Good project management skills (individually/team guided)
- Ability to review multiple documents/designs with fine detail
- Basic operational knowledge of computer programs and various software, such as Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Understanding of customer's drawings using GD&T and reviewing technical specifications
- Basic CAE skills (casting mold flow simulation - MAGMA Preferred)
