JOB SUMMARY:

Are you an experienced healthcare leader ready to drive operational excellence and elevate the overall quality of care within a skilled nursing facility? We are seeking a full-time Licensed Nursing Home Administrator to lead, support, and inspire our team in delivering exceptional, resident-centered care.

The Nursing Home Administrator is responsible for the overall management, direction, and performance of the facility, ensuring compliance with all federal and state regulations while promoting a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement. This role oversees all departments—including clinical, financial, and operational functions—to ensure the highest standards of care, efficiency, and resident satisfaction are consistently achieved.

This position is instrumental in fostering a collaborative environment where staff are empowered, operations run effectively, and residents receive compassionate, high-quality care in a safe and supportive setting.

At Ryders Health, we are committed to a supportive, team-driven culture that prioritizes professional growth, innovation, and compassionate care. If you are a dynamic leader passionate about managing operations, developing teams, and driving quality outcomes across a healthcare organization, we invite you to join our team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for all facility functions, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe, and resident-centered care across all departments.
  • Direct, supervise, and support department leaders and staff, including hiring, onboarding, scheduling, performance management, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce facility-wide policies and procedures in accordance with current standards and all federal and state regulations.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels and effective departmental coordination to meet resident needs and maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee daily operations of the facility, including clinical, financial, and support services, to ensure efficiency, quality outcomes, and resident satisfaction.
  • Lead Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives, monitoring key performance indicators and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, ensuring continuous survey readiness and leading facility response during inspections and audits.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, including physicians and department heads, to ensure effective communication, coordinated services, and continuity of care.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and supportive environment for residents, staff, and visitors, including oversight of infection control, life safety, and emergency preparedness programs.
  • Develop and manage the facility budget, resources, and financial performance to ensure operational efficiency and long-term sustainability.
  • Promote staff development, education, and leadership growth to maintain a highly skilled, engaged, and accountable workforce.
  • Serve as the facility’s primary representative to residents, families, regulatory agencies, and the community, fostering strong relationships and a positive organizational reputation.
  • Act as a key member of the leadership team, contributing to strategic planning, organizational initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current, valid Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) license in the state of Connecticut (or eligibility for licensure), in accordance with state and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required; degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Advanced degree (Master’s/MHA/MBA) strongly preferred for senior leadership roles.
  • Completion of a state-approved Administrator-in-Training (AIT) program and successful completion of required licensure examinations, as applicable.
  • Minimum of 2–5 years of progressive leadership experience in a healthcare setting; prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing facility operations strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience, with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams, oversee operations, and drive organizational performance.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations governing skilled nursing facilities, with proven ability to maintain compliance and ensure continuous survey readiness.
  • Experience with financial management, including budgeting, resource allocation, and operational oversight to support fiscal responsibility and sustainability.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with residents, families, staff, and regulatory agencies.
  • Proven leadership mindset with a passion for team development, staff engagement, and fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lead within a long-term care or skilled nursing environment, demonstrating professionalism, adaptability, and sound judgment.
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
