Role Description The Controller is a full-time, on-site role based in Stratford, CT, responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management for Ryders Health Management. Day-to-day tasks include managing the general ledger, preparing and reviewing financial statements, monitoring budgets, and ensuring accurate reporting across multiple care facilities and service lines. The Controller will oversee accounts payable and receivable, cash flow, and payroll processes, while maintaining strong internal controls and adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements. This role collaborates closely with senior leadership to provide financial analysis, forecasting, and insights that support strategic decision-making and operational performance. The Controller also leads and mentors members of the accounting team, implements process improvements, and supports audits and external reporting needs.

Qualifications

• Strong financial accounting and reporting skills, including general ledger management, financial statement preparation, and reconciliation.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support planning and decision-making.
• Knowledge of internal controls, compliance, and audit processes, ideally within healthcare or related industries.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, as well as advanced skills in spreadsheets and financial modeling.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Collaborative communication skills for working with leadership, operational teams, and external partners.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and support an accounting or finance team.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA or advanced certification is preferred.
• Prior experience cas a Controller or in a senior accounting/finance role, preferably in skilled nursing environment
