Direct Support Professional (DSP)
Location: Mt. Holly NC 28120
Schedule: CLS/Resp - M-F 11:00am-3:00pm (Potential LTCS Day Supports)
Contract Rate: $17-22 per hour
About the Opportunity
We are seeking experienced and compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Contractors in this role will support members in achieving personal goals, assist with daily activities, and encourage skill-building and community involvement.
This is a hands-on, relationship-focused opportunity for individuals who enjoy working independently while making a positive impact.
Scope of Services
Contractors engaged for this role may:
- Support members in working toward goals outlined in their service plans
- Assist with daily living activities (hygiene, meals, mobility, personal care)
- Encourage and facilitate participation in community activities and hobbies
- Provide transportation to and from appointments, outings, and the Day Program (using personal vehicle, if authorized)
- Maintain accurate service notes and required documentation
- Follow member-specific safety and behavior plans
- Communicate as needed with the agency’s referral or clinical contact regarding member needs
Requirements
- At least 18 years old
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid North Carolina driver’s license & clean driving record (if transporting members)
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Reliable transportation
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow service plans
- Prior experience in a similar role preferred, but not required
- Training and orientation on member-specific needs will be provided as required for the contract.
