What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate attorney position at Ryan Law Firm, LLC?
Boutique firm located in Valdosta specializing in civil litigation, primarily in the areas of workers’ compensation and premises liability defense, has an opening for an associate attorney.
The ideal candidate would have at least two years of litigation experience, be highly organized and self-motivated; have the highest standards of personal and professional ethical behavior; strong writing skills, including brief writing; strong research skills; and the ability to work well within a small office and with opposing counsel and judges.
A primary responsibility is assisting the managing partner with his litigation caseload. This would include assignments such as preparing reports to clients; drafting motions and responses to motions; preparing pleadings; attending depositions; interviewing witnesses; assisting with preparation of cases for trial; and other assignments commensurate with experience and ability. The candidate would also have the opportunity, commensurate with experience and ability, to develop his or her own caseload for which he or she would be primarily responsible.
Pay depends on experience and ability and whether the candidate brings a book of business with him or her (a book of business is not required for the job).
Hybrid remote/on site situations will be considered.
