Job Summary
Inspect, test, repair, and maintain all types of basic clinical equipment used in the practice of dentistry.
Job Responsibilities:
· Maintain and repair a wide range of dental equipment such as sterilizers, delivery units, dental lights, chairs, x-ray equipment, lab equipment, vacuum units, and compressors.
· Perform preventative maintenance and electrical safety testing of clinical equipment, devices, and systems.
· Diagnose and correct system and equipment malfunctions.
· Maintain documentation on new equipment, inspections, and equipment repairs.
· Schedule and supervise 3rd party repair as necessary.
· Provide technical assistance and training on equipment operation and maintenance to clinical personnel.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Knowledge of electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical theory, technology, and test equipment.
· Knowledge of color code conventions used in component and wiring marking.
· Knowledge of general computer applications such as email, database software, spreadsheets, and word processing.
· Understanding of basic computer hardware and troubleshooting.
· Ability to analyze, repair, and test electronic and electromechanical equipment.
· Ability to comprehend instructions and communicate effectively.
· Ability to maintain accurate records of repairs, calibration, and testing.
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. of equipment, push/pull carts, kneel, stand, bend, and reach during repairs.
· Knowledge of personal protective equipment and universal precautions in the clinical environment.
· Skill and manual dexterity, hand to eye coordination, and normal color vision.
· Ability to travel extended distances and work outside normal operating hours if necessary.
· Ability to work individually with little to no direct supervision.
· Ability to maintain professionalism at all times while performing the duties.
