As a Systems Analyst, a typical day may include:

  • Collaborating with senior perioperative leadership to develop, implement, and evaluate performance improvement initiatives across surgical and procedural departments

  • Supporting regulatory compliance and clinical practice standards established by AORN, AAMI, The Joint Commission, and other applicable governing organizations

  • Leading the Instrument Management and Preference Card Committees to strengthen inventory accuracy, operational consistency, and surgical readiness

  • Maintaining and optimizing electronic instrument management systems while supporting inventory control initiatives across the Operating Room and Central Supply

  • Identifying opportunities to reduce cost per case, eliminate avoidable delays, improve resource utilization, and strengthen departmental efficiency

  • Collecting, analyzing, and communicating quality and performance data to clinical teams while engaging staff in identifying solutions and improving practice

  • Supporting occurrence reporting, event escalation, issue investigation, and resolution processes to promote patient safety and high-reliability practices

  • Partnering with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate services, support shared governance, and advance department-wide and organizational initiatives

  • Assisting perioperative leadership with patient experience programs, conducting interval audits, reviewing survey results, and recommending improvements

  • Collaborating with the Perioperative Educator to support new-hire orientation, clinical competency development, and laser safety initiatives

  • Participating in departmental strategic planning, clinical governance, quality improvement meetings, and service line initiatives while providing clinical support when needed

This role might be for you if:

  • You have a strong understanding of Operating Room workflows, surgical services, clinical quality standards, and perioperative operations

  • You enjoy analyzing performance data, identifying trends, and translating findings into actionable improvements

  • You are comfortable managing quality dashboards, operational metrics, and performance improvement initiatives

  • You understand the importance of surgical preference cards, instrument management, inventory control, and cost-conscious resource utilization

  • You enjoy collaborating with clinical leaders, physicians, nurses, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to achieve shared operational goals

  • You bring strong leadership and mentorship skills and enjoy helping team members develop their knowledge, competencies, and performance

  • You are knowledgeable about perioperative regulatory requirements, patient safety principles, and high-reliability practices

  • You approach operational challenges with critical thinking, sound judgment, and a solutions-oriented mindset

  • You are organized, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities while supporting department-wide initiatives

  • You value patient advocacy, employee engagement, shared governance, and continuous quality improvement

  • You enjoy contributing to strategic planning and implementing sustainable improvements that strengthen patient outcomes, operational efficiency, and the overall patient experience

To be considered for this Systems Analyst opportunity, you must hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), possess a current New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) license, and maintain BLS certification. Candidates must have a minimum of five years of Operating Room experience and at least two years of experience in a leadership role.
