Job Overview:

The General Maintenance Mechanic repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications, using hand and power tools, and testing equipment.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year experience in hospital or industrial maintenance/construction

 Certifications/Licenses:

• Valid New Jersey Driver’s License

Scheduling Requirements:

• Full-Time, Day Shift
• 8:30am-5:00pm

Essential Functions:

• Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions
• Performs routine general maintenance repairs to various types of equipment as it pertains to the maintenance and general upkeep of the buildings and grounds and the care of the patient, being electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, or carpentry,
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate
• Orders necessary supplies and maintains stock.
• Solves problems and makes decisions relating to installation and maintenance of equipment
• Submits reports, time sheets and completed work orders as requested by supervisor or department policy
• Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment
