Plans, organizes, directs, and coordinates and controls the clinical and administrative activities of the Unit in accordance with the Nursing Department’s Strategic Plan; federal, state regulations and JCAHO standards. Ensure that the unit is in compliance with all applicable policies, laws and regulations.

Job Qualifications
- BSN Degree from an accredited School of Nursing
- MSN Degree preferred
- Minimum two (2) years supervisory/leadership experience
- Experience in Women's Health, Mother/Baby and/or Labor and Delivery specialty required
- Active NJ RN License or Multistate RN License with NJ Endorsement
- BLS certification through American Heart Association
- ACLS certification through American Heart Association
- NRP Certification
- EFM Certification within the past 2 years
Plans, organizes, directs, and coordinates and controls the clinical and administrative activities of the Unit in accordance with the Nursing Department’s Strategic Plan; federal, state regulations and JCAHO standards. Ensure that the unit is in compliance with all applicable policies, laws and regulations.
- Performs rounds to assess physical environment and delivery of quality patient care on the unit
- Assures hospital safety by monitoring compliance with departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
- Implements all national patient safety goals within Division
- Collaborates with Nurse Managers and Staffing Office to identify the number and level of personnel required to provide quality patient care; initiates changes in personnel and assignments as indicated according to census and acuity.
- Conducts frequent staff meetings
- Applies policies and procedures consistently for all staff members
- Maintains an environment conducive to productive open communication with staff.
- Collaborates on a regular basis with Nurse Managers
- Establishes clear and specific performance standards and expectations for staff members
