Job Summary / Essential Functions:
- Performs all duties related to the preparation of surgical and autopsy specimens to be examined by a Pathologist,
- Performs special stains to aid in identification of the diagnosis or disease state,
- Assist pathologist during the gross processing of surgical specimens,
- Using frozen section technique, prepare slides for the pathologist to view for rapid diagnosis,
- Experience grossing preferred,
Education/Experience/Certifications:
- Has education and experience equivalent to the guidelines mandated by CMS in the Clinical Lab Improvement Act CLIA of 1988 and NJSDH requirements,
- Certified Histology Technician ASCP,
