About the Role:
As a Histo Tech, you will play a crucial role in the healthcare services industry by preparing and analyzing tissue samples for diagnostic purposes. Your work will directly impact patient care by ensuring that pathologists have accurate and high-quality specimens to evaluate. You will be responsible for performing various laboratory techniques, including embedding, sectioning, and staining tissues, which are essential for identifying diseases. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols will be paramount in your daily tasks to maintain the integrity of samples. Ultimately, your expertise will contribute to timely and accurate diagnoses, enhancing the overall quality of patient care.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Histotechnology or a related field.
- Certification as a Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) from a recognized body.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a biological science or a related field.
- Experience working in a clinical laboratory setting.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process tissue specimens for microscopic examination by embedding, sectioning, and staining.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with safety and quality control standards.
- Collaborate with pathologists and other healthcare professionals to discuss findings and assist in diagnostic procedures.
- Document and maintain accurate records of all laboratory procedures and results.
