Location: Charlotte, NC
Description:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Construction Laborer to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist with a variety of tasks on construction sites, including loading and unloading materials, preparing job sites, operating tools and machinery, and supporting skilled tradespeople. This role is essential to ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on time. The work will consist mostly of night shifts.
Responsibilities:
This position will include performing various supervisory functions. These responsibilities/functions may include but are not limited to the following:
- Prepare construction sites by cleaning obstacles and hazards
- Load and unload construction materials and move them to work area
- Operate hand and power tools as needed
- Assist with the setup and teardown of scaffolding, barricades, and temporary structures
- Follow instructions from supervisors and skilled tradespeople
- Dig trenches, backfill holes, or compact earth to prepare for construction
- Maintain a clean and safe job site by removing debris and hazardous materials Perform basic measurements and calculations
- Drive company vehicles as needed to deliver materials and remove trash from the site
- Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations
Required Competencies/Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Construction background preferred
- Ability to operate basic tools and machinery
- Ability to lift 60 lbs
- Physical strength and stamina to perform manual labor
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Willingness to learn and take direction
- OSHA certification is a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $24.00 per hour
