Position: Vice President – Regional Business Development, Private Wealth
Location: San Diego, CA (Hybrid)
Type: Permanent
Salary: $80,000 - $90,000/PA
Summary:
This is a hybrid, territory-based position focused on business development in the Northern California region. The Vice President will be responsible for expanding relationships with financial advisors across RIAs, independent broker-dealers, and wirehouse channels. The role blends in-office work in San Diego with significant field engagement, including travel, events, and industry conference participation.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and strengthen relationships with financial advisors across RIA, IBD, and wirehouse channels.
- Drive regional growth by positioning private market offerings within client portfolios.
- Deliver in-person/virtual presentations and host seminars, events, and conferences.
- Provide advisors with market updates, product guidance, and portfolio insights.
- Partner with internal teams for pipeline management, operations, and sales execution.
- Act as a subject matter expert on private markets, competitive positioning, and trends.
- Maintain compliance with FINRA, SEC, and internal policies in all sales activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Prior inside sales/business development experience in alternative asset management.
- Active FINRA SIE, Series 7, and Series 63 licenses.
- Strong background in advisory services with measurable results.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to manage a territory and balance travel with virtual coverage.
- Deep interest and knowledge in alternative investments and private markets.
- Analytical, detail-oriented, organized, and proactive.
- Professional designations (CFA, CPA, CAIA) are preferred.
