SCADA Ignition Engineer
Location: Chicago, IL (Onsite)
Duration: 6 Months Contract
Pay Rate: $65–$80/hr on W2
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced SCADA Ignition Engineer to design, develop, and implement industrial automation solutions in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Ignition SCADA architecture, Python scripting, and control system design, with the ability to deliver reliable, scalable, and efficient solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and architect Ignition SCADA systems, including Tag Providers, databases, database interfaces, Ignition Edge Enterprise, and Foundation drivers.
- Develop and configure SCADA applications for manufacturing and industrial automation environments.
- Create and maintain Python scripts for automation, data processing, and system functionality.
- Design control systems, reporting solutions, and data analytics dashboards.
- Develop project plans while considering technical and operational requirements.
- Support system design, testing, commissioning, deployment, and ongoing enhancements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and provide technical solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve SCADA system issues while ensuring optimal performance.
Required Qualifications
- 4–7 years of experience with Ignition SCADA design and development.
- Strong hands-on experience with Ignition architecture, Tag Providers, databases, and database interfaces.
- Proficiency in Python scripting for Ignition applications.
- Experience designing and implementing industrial control and SCADA systems.
- Good understanding of manufacturing environments and industrial automation.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ignition Gold Certification.
- Experience with backend infrastructure including virtualization, operating systems, networking, and databases.
- Knowledge of data analytics, reporting, and industrial communication protocols.
- Experience working throughout the full project lifecycle, from design through implementation and support.
