- Using legal software and web-based tools to prepare legal documents, correspondence, and court filings.
- Organizing and maintaining attorney files and records.
- Communicating with clients and other parties via email and telephone.
- Managing attorney calendars through Microsoft Outlook.
- Maintaining and updating attorney client and contact databases.
- Distributing attorney billing statements and invoices.
- Providing limited support for front desk functions as needed.
- Performing additional administrative tasks as required.
Job Requirements:
- A minimum of five (5) years of recent experience as a legal assistant in civil and/or commercial litigation.
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency with Outlook and Outlook Calendar, Microsoft Word, Adobe, and Zoom; familiarity with Excel and PowerPoint is preferred but not required.
- Experience working with a document management system such as NetDocuments or a similar platform.
- Working knowledge of local litigation rules and procedures (including Rule 9A), with the ability to prepare compliant legal filings.
- Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills.
- Positive, team-oriented attitude with a willingness to assist as needed.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, along with solid organizational and planning abilities.
- Familiarity with litigation-related legal terminology.
- Experience with electronic court filings (ECF).
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines.
- Proven experience providing dedicated support to multiple attorneys simultaneously.
- Willingness to take on additional responsibilities as assigned from time to time.
