Laboratory Technician 
Russell Tobin is partnering with a leading life sciences company to identify a Laboratory Technician for an opportunity in Knoxville, TN.
 
Additional Details:

• Location model: Onsite - Knoxville, TN
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM-10:30 PM, with rotating holidays
• Position Type: 6-month contract with potential to extend
• Pay range approved: $21/hr-$25/hr depending on experience

 
Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory procedures related to the screening and control of materials used in the processing, manufacturing, and distribution of blood and plasma products.
• Independently perform, interpret, and troubleshoot laboratory procedures related to unit and/or donor suitability testing and other required assays.
• Perform routine analytical testing using manual and automated methods and analyze results against established controls.
• Complete Quality Control (QC), equipment maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting activities according to SOPs.
• Operate analytical instrumentation and technical laboratory equipment.
• Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and sample workflow within laboratory information systems.
• Follow current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), regulatory requirements, EHS policies, and laboratory safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment.
• Participate in training across multiple departments and perform other related duties as assigned.

 
Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, Physical, Biological, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology from an accredited institution; recent graduates are welcome OR Associate degree in Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution.
• Intermediate to strong computer skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively within the department and with other laboratory teams.
• Ability to stand or walk for prolonged periods and lift or carry up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to work with laboratory equipment and follow required safety procedures.
• MLT or MT licensure in Tennessee and two years of related laboratory experience are preferred.
