Fund Accountant

The role is responsible for overseeing fund accounting, operational controls, and investor reporting for alternative investment products. The position partners closely with internal teams and third-party administrators to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong control environments, and effective product lifecycle management from launch through liquidation.

Key Responsibilities

Fund Accounting & Oversight

• Ensure a best-in-class control environment across internal processes and third-party administrators
• Review and analyze NAV calculations, reconciliations, and fee computations for alternative investment funds
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of capital calls, distributions, and cash management activities

Product & Operational Management

• Support the launch of new products and the wind-down of legacy funds
• Act as a key liaison with auditors, tax providers, administrators, and other external partners
• Oversee resolution of audit, tax, and administrator inquiries through fund close-out

Stakeholder & Investor Engagement

• Partner with portfolio management, legal, tax, finance, accounting, and product strategy teams
• Communicate fund performance to investors and address investor inquiries
• Deliver customized reporting and support investor-specific requests

Projects & Process Improvement

• Support cross-functional initiatives related to new product accounting, operational enhancements, and technology improvements
• Assist investment and business teams with marketing materials and product launches

Qualifications & Experience

• 3–7 years of experience in fund accounting, investment accounting, or public accounting (audit), preferably within closed-end alternative investment or private equity funds
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA preferred
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting for investment companies
• Advanced Excel skills; VBA experience a plus
• Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and collaborative mindset
