About the Company
Our client is a well-established, full-service law firm with over 110 attorneys, providing high-quality legal counsel, innovative solutions, and personalized client service. They are a fast-paced, growing firm seeking an experienced Commercial Litigation Paralegal to support their Commercial Litigation Department.
About the Role
The Commercial Litigation Paralegal will provide comprehensive support to attorneys handling complex, document-intensive litigation matters. The ideal candidate will have at least five (5) years of litigation paralegal experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple cases in a deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Gather, organize, summarize, and index large volumes of documents and prepare detailed chronologies for fact- and document-heavy cases
- Draft correspondence, routine pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses in accordance with court rules and judicial procedures
- Prepare, maintain, and manage hearing and trial materials, including hard copy and electronic (PDF) document binders
- Liaise directly with clients and third parties regarding document collection, organization, and management
- Maintain accurate case files, shared drives, and physical files with key documents and updates
- Schedule and coordinate depositions, hearings, and court appearances
- Manage attorney calendars, track deadlines, and ensure timely filings
- Take and route phone calls and messages for multiple attorneys
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal, preferably in commercial litigation
Required Skills
- Experience drafting legal documents, including discovery demands, PC requests, RJIs, motions, stipulations, subpoenas, notices, and post-judgment papers
- Proficiency in formatting briefs and preparing exhibit books
- Experience with OCR processing of documents
- Strong knowledge of court filing procedures, including NYSCEF and Federal ECF e-filing systems
- Proven ability to track court dates, deadlines, and litigation calendars
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage a high-volume caseload
Preferred Skills
- Paralegal certificate preferred, but not required
- Strong client service orientation and problem-solving abilities
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to anticipate attorney needs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a polished, professional demeanor
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Adobe, Westlaw, ProLaw, and timekeeping applications
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced legal environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with attorneys and staff at all levels
Pay range and compensation package
Competitive salary: $55,000 – $70,000, based on experience. Comprehensive benefits package including 401(k), FULLY PAID Medical, FULLY PAID Dental, FULLY PAID Life Insurance, Paid Time Off (PTO), and additional firm benefits.
