Associate Ingredient Scientist
The Scientific team at Russell Tobin is hiring an Associate Ingredient Scientist for an exciting food and beverage organization near Burlington, MA.
Responsibilities
- Supports development of ingredient specifications.
- Collect critical documents to ensure clients ingredients meet the required FDA standards.
- Leads projects that impact ingredients, such as new supplier requirement updates, cost savings initiatives, supply issues or production challenges
- Works with Product Development and other functions of R&D such as Sensory, Ingredients, Nutrition, Regulatory, Flavor Technology, Process Engineering, Chemistry, Microbiology
- Develop / Update SOPs and training for job function as needed
- Communicates with vendors to obtain required documentation
Requirements
- B.S. in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology or allied field
- 1-3 years of experience in related function within food/beverage (R&D, Quality) or Client internship
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience with Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Additional Details:
- Position Type: 9 month contract opportunity with strong potential to extend up to 12 months.
- Pay rate range approved: $30.50 - 34.50/hr depending on experience
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
