Field Technician III – On Wing Services
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Field Technician III to join our On Wing Services team in Indianapolis, IN. In this role, you will perform maintenance, repair, and overhaul services on aircraft engines for both business and civil aviation customers. This is a first-shift, onsite position requiring hands-on technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. You will work in our repair station shop, occasionally traveling domestically and internationally (up to 25% annually) to meet business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow work scope instructions provided by the Maintenance Operations Center.
- Disassemble, clean, and reassemble engines and modules at an intermediate level.
- Apply troubleshooting techniques to identify and address defects in components or parts.
- Access and interpret technical documentation such as AMM, EMM, and IPC.
- Interpret and apply Service Bulletins, FAA directives, and Technical Variances as needed.
- Work occasional evening shifts and required overtime when business demands.
- Safely lift engine components weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Maintain compliance with FAA-mandated safety and inspection requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent with 3 years of aircraft maintenance, repair, and/or overhaul experience, OR associate degree with 1 year of related experience.
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant License.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Ability to pass an FAA-required eye exam and pre-employment background check, as well as FAA/DOT drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience with gas turbine engines.
- Previous customer-facing or client support experience.
- Familiarity with aircraft or engine logbooks.
- Experience in an FAR145 repair station.
- Ability to act in a lead capacity as directed.
- Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Location & Employment Type:
- Onsite – Indianapolis, IN
- Full-time, first shift (Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM)
Compensation & Benefits:
- Pay Range: $28.65 – $42.98/hour
