How You'll Contribute
The Preconstruction Executive Plays a key role in developing and implementing preconstruction strategies, managing project budgets and schedules, and fostering relationships with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors and other stakeholders.
Responsible for the daily management, supervision, coordination, and successful completion of preconstruction efforts to meet the objectives (cost, time, phasing, etc.) of the associated preconstruction projects. Position also entails cross management, mentorship, and business best practice coordination, development, and execution among team members.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Education and experience requirements: Four-year engineering degree or equivalent experience plus 10 years or more preconstruction experience. Ability to lead large estimates and lead multiple teams. In-depth knowledge of design and construction practices and materials. Effective negotiation, team building, problem solving, mathematical and analytical skills required. Must possess exceptional organization skills and keen attention to detail, deadlines and accuracy. Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Leads the estimating process for commercial construction projects of varying sizes and complexities.
- Lead and oversee all preconstruction activities, including estimating, bidding, value engineering, subcontractor coordination, and project planning.
- Develop and implement preconstruction strategies and processes to optimize project costs, timelines, and quality.
- Collaborate with business development teams to identify and pursue new preconstruction opportunities.
- Manage and mentor a team of preconstruction professionals, including estimators, coordinators, and engineers.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and industry partners.
- Review project plans, specifications, and requirements to develop accurate cost estimates and budgets.
- Conduct bid analysis, subcontractor selection, and negotiation to ensure competitive pricing and quality work.
- Monitor project budgets, schedules, and progress during the preconstruction phase.
- Provide leadership and guidance on value engineering, constructability reviews, and risk management strategies.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and best practices in preconstruction methodologies.
- Assist in recruitment and hiring processes.
- Exemplify strong leadership skills, having the capacity to build-out the team and the ability to adapt and evolve with the company's future growth plans.
- Mentor and coach the project team to ensure their skills and capabilities are being developed.
- Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with company values and culture.

- Provide leadership and hands-on assistance to projects and team members to include preconstruction, planning, mentoring, proactive problem prevention, resolution of issues, coaching, and holding team members accountable.
- Provide regular reporting on key metrics and projects.
- Ensure the organization's general economic and financial conditions are taken into consideration to ensure the company's goals are met and matched with available resources.
- Monitor and assign resources for projects in resource planning software.
- Manage job chargeability of project team members.
- Review proposals before submission and collaborate with Operations leadership on fee and staffing strategy.
- Communicate with Executive Leadership on issues requiring their involvement.
