About the Role:

The role is a multifaceted position that combines skilled carpentry with professional driving responsibilities to support construction and delivery operations across various sites in the United States. The primary objective is to construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials while ensuring the safe and timely transportation of tools, materials, and personnel to job locations. This role demands a high level of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and adherence to safety standards both on the road and at the worksite. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining project schedules by efficiently managing driving routes and carpentry tasks. Ultimately, this position contributes to the overall success of construction projects by delivering quality workmanship and reliable logistical support.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with job site coordination, ensuring projects stay on schedule and meet quality standards.
- Operate company vehicles (box truck) to transport materials, equipment, and team members safely and efficiently to various job sites.
- Perform hands-on work including hanging doors, installing trim, basic framing, and general carpentry.
- Make deliveries of materials, tools, and equipment to various job sites using a box truck or other company vehicles.
- Maintain and manage inventory of tools and materials, ensuring crews have what they need when they need it.
- Visit multiple job sites as needed to support operations and assist with logistics.
- Work closely with the Superintendent and other team members to manage subcontractors and site logistics.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Perform precise measurements, cutting, shaping, and installation of wood and other building materials according to project specifications.
- Inspect and maintain carpentry tools and vehicle to ensure they are in good working condition and comply with safety regulations.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other tradespeople to coordinate work schedules and project requirements.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements related to both driving and construction activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- A DOT medical card required
- Comfortable driving a box truck and making deliveries to multiple job sites.
- Comfortable working across and traveling between job sites to meet project needs.
- Proven experience as a carpenter with a strong understanding of carpentry techniques and tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor including lifting heavy materials and working in various weather conditions.
- Knowledge of safety standards and practices related to construction and vehicle operation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or equivalent certification.
- Experience with operating light to medium-duty trucks or vans.
- Familiarity with additional construction trades such as drywall, painting, or flooring.
- Certification in OSHA safety training or equivalent.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
