The Russ Darrow Group is seeking a driven and experienced New Car Sales Manager to lead and develop a high-performing sales team. This role is ideal for a proven automotive professional who thrives on coaching others, driving results, and delivering an exceptional customer experience.
As a New Car Sales Manager, you will play a key role in mentoring Sales Associates, improving team performance, and helping customers through the buying process. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership skills, a track record of success in automotive sales, and a hands-on approach to desking and closing deals.
Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and hold the sales team accountable to performance goals and standards
- Work directly with customers and sales staff to build relationships and enhance the overall sales process
- Assist in desking deals, structuring transactions, and closing new car deals and helping with used car deals when necessary
- Train, coach, and mentor Sales Associates on proven sales techniques and product knowledge
- Monitor and improve team productivity, including lead follow-up, appointments, and closing ratios
- Support the development of each salesperson’s pipeline and customer base
- Facilitate ongoing sales training and team development initiatives
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the sales process
- Collaborate with F&I and other departments to ensure smooth deal flow and customer experience
- Maintain expert knowledge of OEM programs, incentives, and compliance requirements, ensuring accurate application on all deals
- Oversee new vehicle inventory management including ordering, aging, pricing strategy, and turn rate optimization
- Support manufacturer initiatives, including sales events, launches, and CSI programs, to meet or exceed OEM benchmarks
