- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory standards.
- Perform detailed account reconciliation including general ledger reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and account analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections.
- Execute journal entries, double entry bookkeeping, and accrual accounting procedures to maintain accurate financial records.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and support month-end and year-end closing activities with precision.
- Support internal and external audits through detailed documentation, audit trail maintenance, and compliance checks related to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls.
- Assist with regulatory reporting requirements including tax filings, securities law compliance, and governmental accounting mandates such as LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit).
- Contribute to financial report writing, interpretation of financial reports, cash flow analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial management initiatives.
- Provide mentorship to junior team members while fostering a collaborative environment focused on continuous improvement.
- Utilize accounting software such as Sage, Xero, or other enterprise systems to streamline processes and enhance data accuracy.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
- Demonstrated expertise in technical accounting areas.
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks , E2 Job Boss; familiarity with financial software for reporting and analysis tools is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, double entry bookkeeping, balance sheet reconciliation, account reconciliation and general ledger accounting.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately; experience in financial report writing is advantageous.
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently within deadlines.
