Pay Range: $40.00 - $70.00 per hour

Summary:
Job Summary:
The Professor Manager serves as a senior faculty member with additional administrative and leadership responsibilities. This role combines academic excellence with strategic oversight of programs, faculty development, and resource management. The Professor Manager is expected to maintain teaching and research commitments while providing leadership in departmental operations, faculty mentorship, and institutional initiatives. This position exemplifies the Rush mission, vision, and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

Required Job Qualifications:

• PhD or equivalent’s degree in related field
• 5 years teaching experience in higher education
• Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching, instructional design, and student mentorship.
• Proven record of scholarly productivity, including publications and grant funding.
• Experience in faculty mentorship and academic leadership roles.
• Proficiency with learning management systems and educational technologies.
• Ability to manage budgets, resources, and program operations effectively.
• Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive academic environment.


Preferred Job Qualifications:

• Experience in senior academic administrative roles (e.g., Program Director, Department Chair).
• Track record of successful strategic planning and implementation in academic settings.

Responsibilities:

• Provide academic and administrative leadership for assigned programs and faculty teams.
• Teach courses and contribute to curriculum development aligned with accreditation standards.
• Maintain an active research agenda, including securing and managing external funding.
• Mentor faculty and support their professional development in teaching, research, and service.
• Oversee program operations, including budgeting, resource allocation, and compliance.
• Lead strategic planning initiatives for academic programs and faculty recruitment.
• Serve on college and university committees and represent the institution in external forums.
• Foster a collaborative, inclusive environment that supports diversity and equity.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean or Department Chair.
