What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Educator/Therapy Services position at Rush Copley Medical Center?
Position Summary
Responsible for coordinating and implementing educational and competency based proficiencies for both inpatient and outpatient therapies including; physical therapy (PT), occupational therapy (OT) and speech language pathology (SLP). The education and competency plan and content is developed in collaboration with the rehab team including but not limited to the following; Medical Director, Administrative Director, Therapy Service Manager, and respective members of PT, OT and SLP. The clinical educator must be able to function autonomously and in collaboration with health care providers within the following five roles: active practitioner, educator, consultant, researcher, and leader. Maintains a standard of care in the hospital setting that is research and evidenced based.
Requirements
Education: MS, MA or doctorate required.
Licensure: Must be licensed and currently registered to practice as a PT, OT or SLP in the State of IL
Certifications: CPR Required; specialty certification strongly encouraged
Special Skills: Current knowledge in the care of the orthopedic and neuro populations including regulatory requirements and specialty organizations practice guidelines.
Experience: 3-5 years in acute care or outpatient hospital based therapy setting.
