Overview
The Environment of Care (EOC) Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the facility environment is safe, clean, well‑maintained, and fully operational in support of high‑quality client care. This role oversees all housekeeping functions, routine and preventive maintenance, pool and grounds upkeep, and facility safety compliance. The EOC Coordinator ensures the physical environment meets state licensing requirements, health and safety standards, and organizational expectations for excellence.
This is a full‑time, onsite, non‑exempt position reporting to the Executive Director
Responsibilities
Housekeeping Oversight
- Supervise and support housekeeping staff to ensure all client rooms, common areas, bathrooms, and offices are clean, sanitized, and maintained to program standards.
- Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules.
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure cleanliness, safety, and readiness.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and ensure safe storage and usage.
Maintenance & Facilities Management
- Perform or coordinate routine building maintenance, including:
- Light bulb replacement
- Minor repairs
- Door, window, and fixture upkeep
- Basic plumbing and electrical troubleshooting
- Maintain facility equipment, tools, and maintenance supplies.
- Coordinate with licensed vendors for repairs requiring specialized expertise.
- Maintain logs of all maintenance activities and vendor services.
Pool & Grounds Maintenance
- Oversee pool care, including water testing, chemical balancing, filter maintenance, and safety compliance.
- Maintain outdoor areas, walkways, patios, and facility grounds to ensure safety and appearance.
- Identify and address hazards such as debris, uneven surfaces, or damaged equipment.
Environment of Care Compliance
- Conduct regular Environment of Care rounds and document findings.
- Ensure compliance with California DHCS, OSHA, fire safety, and local building codes.
- Maintain emergency equipment (fire extinguishers, exit lighting, first aid stations) and coordinate required inspections.
- Participate in safety committee meetings and support emergency preparedness planning.
Preventive Maintenance
- Develop and maintain a preventive maintenance schedule for HVAC, appliances, water heaters, and facility systems.
- Track warranties, service agreements, and inspection deadlines.
- Identify facility risks early and implement corrective actions.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with clinical and administrative leadership to ensure the facility environment supports client care needs.
- Respond promptly to staff maintenance requests and safety concerns.
Provide clear communication regarding facility issues, timelines, and resolutions
Requirements
- Experience in housekeeping, maintenance, facilities management, or related field required.
- Experience in healthcare, residential treatment, hospitality, or similar environment preferred.
- Basic knowledge of building systems, tools, and safety procedures.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, lift up to 50 lbs, and work indoors/outdoors.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and respond to urgent needs.
- Pool maintenance experience preferred (or willingness to be trained).
- Valid driver’s license.
Pay: $51,426.89 - $61,933.46 per year
