Do you light up when a tricky print lands on your bench? Are you energized by keeping a multi-spindle line humming? In our Machesney Park, IL operation, you’ll run Acme screw machines and turn complex drawings into precise, repeatable parts.
The Challenge
One job might demand tight tolerances and fast changeovers. Another might require careful monitoring and swift adjustments to hold spec. You’ll switch gears seamlessly, stay ahead of issues, and ensure parts flow from first article to final count.
Your Core Accountabilities
- Set up and operate Acme multi-spindle screw machines to produce precision components per specifications.
- Monitor run quality and throughput; make adjustments to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
- Read/interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to plan machining steps.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot issues to reduce downtime.
- Collaborate with teammates to achieve production goals and hit deadlines.
- Uphold a clean, safe work area aligned with company safety standards.
- Accurately record production data and communicate discrepancies to supervisors.
Your Background
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional machining training is a plus.
- Experience as a screw machinist or similar machining role (Acme experience beneficial).
- Strong knowledge of machining practices, tooling, and measurement.
- Ability to read and apply technical documents and blueprints.
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and resourceful in solving problems.
- Team-focused with strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
