Position Overview
The Laborer provides essential support to the construction crew by performing site preparation, material handling,
cleanup, demolition, and general assistance tasks. Laborers work under the supervision of the Lead Carpenter,
Carpenter, and Construction Manager to maintain a safe, organized, and productive jobsite. This role is entry-level
to intermediate and does not require prior construction experience.
Primary Responsibilities
? Material Handling & Staging
o Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers
o Move, carry, and stage materials to workspaces
o Stack and organize materials for efficient access
o Assist in inventory management and material tracking
? Site Preparation & Cleanup
o Clear and prepare work areas for carpentry crews
o Remove temporary protection, barriers, and unused materials
o Sweep, clean, and maintain jobsite cleanliness daily
o Arrange debris for dumpster disposal or recycling
? Demolition & Removal
o Perform light demolition of non-structural components
o Remove old materials, fixtures, and protective coverings
o Separate and dispose of materials per environmental requirements
o Assist in building protection and dust containment
? General Construction Support
o Hold materials, tools, or equipment for carpenters as needed
o Assist with simple measuring, marking, and fastening under direction
o Help set up and break down scaffolding, ladders, and temporary equipment
o Perform basic drilling, cutting, and assembly tasks assigned
? Safety & Housekeeping
o Follow all jobsite safety rules and wear required PPE
o Report hazards, spills, and unsafe conditions to supervisor
o Maintain tool and equipment areas in organized condition
o Keep walkways and access areas clear and safe
Required Qualifications
? Experience: No experience required; entry-level position accepted with willingness to learn
? Physical Ability: Ability to lift, carry, and move materials 50 lbs regularly; work at heights on ladders or
scaffolding; endurance for 8-hour workdays
? Skills: Basic hand tool operation; ability to follow written and verbal instructions clearly
? Attitude: Reliable, safety-conscious, willingness to work hard and learn; good teamwork
? Availability: Consistent full-time attendance; punctuality required
Preferred Qualifications
? Previous construction or general labor experience
? OSHA 10-Hour safety certification or willingness to obtain
? Valid driver's license
? Personal hand and power tool
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly Wage $19.00 ? $25.00/hour (based on experience)
Hours Full-time (32 hours/week); overtime (40 ) as needed
