Our client is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the daily operations of the accounting department.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, chargebacks, and tax audits.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
- Prepare and analyze budgeting reports, cash flow forecasts, and revenue projections.
- Review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger activity for accuracy.
- Assist and participate in annual corporate reviews, corporate tax returns, and external audits.
- Establish, document, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Monitor team performance, providing mentorship, training, and guidance to ensure deadlines are met and accuracy is maintained.
- Manage accounting operations for global subsidiaries, ensuring accurate consolidation and compliance with local reporting requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (BS in Accounting preferred).
- 2–3 years of experience as a Senior Accountant or Accounting Supervisor; 5 years total accounting experience preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics GP or Business Central (BC), and advanced skills in Excel.
- Experience managing transactions with national retailers and reconciling chargebacks.
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP, bookkeeping principles, and relevant accounting laws and regulations.
- Experience with international accounting and intercompany transactions across global subsidiaries.
- Proven ability to lead and develop a small accounting team while meeting internal and external deadlines.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Experience in the retail or consumer products industry a strong plus.
- CPA certification preferred.
