The Job Cost Accountant is responsible for performing general accounting functions, including but not limited to reconcile balance sheet accounts, assist in development and documentation of procedures, communicate with auditors, and assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with team members across departments.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist in development and documentation of procedures to ensure that processes are performed efficiently, clear audit trails are maintained, and proper internal controls are in place
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts within established timeframes, resolve variances, and prepare related adjusting entries
- Understand detailed accounting concepts
- Perform relevant tax and accounting research
- Provide support to accounting and operations departments
- Perform job cost accounting and analysis
- Prepare AZ Transaction Privilege Tax returns for multiple entities
- Assist in maintenance of insurance compliance
- Assist in customer prequalification tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 5 years of experience of relevant experience
- Construction experience
- Proficiency with construction-related accounting software (e.g., Viewpoint, Workday, Microsoft, etc.)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
