Duties
- Greet guests warmly and provide outstanding customer service from seating to farewell
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Toast POS
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and quality
- Upsell menu items including wines, spirits, cocktails, and specialty dishes to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales
- Process cash and credit card transactions efficiently, ensuring accuracy in sales transactions processing
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in dining areas, bar stations, and service stations in compliance with food safety regulations
- Assist with food handling, food preparation support, bussing tables, and resetting tables for new guests
- Manage guest inquiries or concerns promptly to ensure a positive dining experience
- Support opening or closing duties as needed to ensure smooth restaurant operations
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments; fine dining experience is a plus
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally
- Solid understanding of beverage service including spirits, wine knowledge, cocktail preparation, and drink service techniques
- Effective time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently to maximize sales opportunities
- Basic math skills for processing payments accurately and handling cash transactions
- Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices within the food industry
- Experience with OpenTable reservations system is advantageous
- Ability to work collaboratively with kitchen staff and fellow servers in a fast-paced environment
- Strong guest relations skills with a friendly attitude that promotes guest loyalty
