Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Secretary/Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will provide essential administrative support to attorneys and assist in the management of various legal tasks. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. 5 years experience in personal injury and litigation cases is a requirement.
Duties
- Provide executive administrative support to attorneys, including managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings.
- Draft and proofread legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, and correspondence with a high level of accuracy.
- Assist with project management tasks related to ongoing cases and legal projects.
- Perform data entry and maintain organized filing systems for easy access to important documents.
- Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, and court personnel while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Conduct interviews with clients as needed to gather information pertinent to cases.
- Support attorneys in personal injury law.
- Participate in litigation preparation by organizing exhibits and preparing trial binders.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Legal Secretary/Paralegal or in a similar administrative role within a law office setting.
- Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures related to various fields of law is essential.
- Strong writing skills with experience in legal drafting and proofreading documents for clarity and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under tight deadlines.
- Strong clerical experience including data entry, filing, transcription, and document review.
- Exceptional phone etiquette and interpersonal skills for effective communication with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
