What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transit Bus Operator position at RTW Management?
RTW Management, in partnership with Sandy, Oregon Area Transit, is seeking a reliable and experienced Transit Bus Operator with Class B or better Commercial Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement and Air Brake certification to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting passengers to and from designated locations, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring the comfort and safety of passengers throughout the journey.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate buses in compliance with all traffic laws and company policies.
- Safely transport passengers within designated service area.
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking the bus, and provide assistance as needed.
- Maintain a clean and well-maintained bus.
- Perform pre and post trip inspections, and report any mechanical issues to a supervisor.
- Adhere to established schedules and routes.
- Provide excellent customer service to passengers, including answering questions, providing information about destinations, and ensuring a pleasant and comfortable experience for all passengers.
Qualifications:
- Valid CDL B or better License with Passenger Endorsement, and Air Brake Certification
- Clean driving record
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong knowledge of local traffic laws and routes.
- Ability to lift and carry luggage and other items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
