Responsibilities
- Willingness to learn and execute task as assigned.
- Tasks may include welding, operating lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other machine shop equipment at the discretion of the Team Lead.
- Reading blueprints, taking measurements, and preparing material for assembly.
- Follows and complies with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintains departmental housekeeping standards.
Skills and Abilities
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision and make decisions within the scope of the position.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be capable of multi-tasking.
- Must have good basic math skills.
- Must have the ability to use and read measuring tools such as tape measure, micrometers, calipers, etc.
- Must have good organizational skills.
- Must be able to maintain a safe and clean workspace.
- Ability to read drawings is preferred.
- Attendance is an essential function of the position.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Prior experience working with hand tools and power tools required.
- Prefer previous shop experience such as fabrication, metals, small engines, wood shop, etc.

- Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Talk and hear to coordinate day-to-day phone and in person transactions
- Exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.
- Communicate via phone, email, in person
- Lift and/or move up to 60 lbs.
- Exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, dust, fumes, airborne particles, chemical dusts, and risk of electric shock and non-hazardous chemicals agents.
- Handle, with mechanical equipment, weights exceeding 250 lbs.
- Exposed to hazardous materials as defined by the OSHA Hazard Communication standard.
- Exposure to noise levels above the OSHA action level may be possible.
- Required to sit, perform keyboard work.
- Operates a computer and other office equipment such as a copy machine and printer.
