The Color Weigh-Up individual will weigh up pigments and additives for use in production.
Work Schedule: Sunday - Thursday 11:00pm - 7:00am Will need to train for several months on 1st shift Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:00pm Overtime as needed.

Skills and Abilities
This position must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. regularly and stand for an 8-hour shift. Specific vision abilities may require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. This position requires the use of safety equipment as dictated by the work area such as safety glasses and shoes, respirators, face shield, hearing protection, Tyvek suit, gloves, etc. Exposure to noise levels above the OSHA action level may be possible. Proper personal safety equipment is to be used while performing this job as pointed out by plant safety procedures. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, dust, fumes, airborne particles, chemical dust, and risk of electric shock and non-hazardous chemical agents. Employees are regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to hazardous materials as defined by the OSHA Hazard Communication standard.

RTP Company’s engineers develop customized thermoplastic compounds in over 60 different engineering resin systems for applications requiring color, conductive, elastomeric, flame retardant, high temperature, structural, and wear-resistant properties.

Responsibilities
- Measures appropriate weights of pigments for specified customer colors
- Monitors inventory levels associated with pigment mixtures used to color plastics
- Assist the production colorist with molding color chips and other duties
- Maintains a clean working environment
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work process, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment
- Excellent attention to detail required
- Must be able to operate/monitor equipment during operation to ensure quality production
- Read and follow manuals and procedures
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace
- Must be dependable and have excellent attendance
- Possess a positive attitude
- Must be willing and able to work overtime as needed, up to every other weekend
- Willing and able to work in temperature extremes – hot and cold
- Must be able to pass a forklift test and a respirator fit test
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English
- Passing score on the RTP Company Color Test
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred
