Position Summary 

RTCS, LLC is seeking a Solid Rocket Motor (SRM) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the Department of Defense’s Industrial Base Analysis and Sustainment (IBAS) initiatives. These efforts improve the readiness and competitiveness of the U.S. industrial base by establishing high-priority domestic capabilities for supply chains critical to national security and mitigating exposure to global risks. 

 

As SRM SME, you will provide programmatic and technical oversight across multiple projects of varying contract types, sizes, complexity, and levels of risk. You will work with the science and technology community, engineering teams, and senior stakeholders to transition advanced technologies into operational systems. 

Key Responsibilities  

  • Lead programmatic and technical management of IBAS investments in Kinetic Weapons with a focus on SRMs.  
  • Conduct independent assessments of advanced technology maturation and potential for operational transition. 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to plan, implement, and reassess program improvements. 
  • Support development of executive-level briefings, papers, and correspondence. 
  • Prepare materials for program reviews and Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings. 
  • Provide recommendations on program growth, cost reduction initiatives, tradeoffs, and risk mitigation. 
  • Develop life cycle cost analyses, including engineering, testing, and logistics data for system support plans. 
  • Build and maintain program milestone plans, schedules, and required documentation. 

Required Qualifications and Skills: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering. 
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project or equivalent). 
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in technical program/project management of SRMs and their components. 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Active Secret Clearance. 
  • Ability to travel up to 25% to support customer objectives. 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Advanced degree in engineering. 
  • Hands-on manufacturing experience. 
  • 10 years of experience managing projects in SRM development or production. 
  • 15 years of technical program management experience supporting system development and production (e.g., propellant grain design/casting, composite or metallic rocket motor cases, thrust vector control systems, rocket motor nozzles). 
  • Experience managing engineering teams from design and rapid prototyping through production. 

 


RTCS, LLC is a small business founded in 2021 supporting Government and commercial development activities in prototype system design, ground test and evaluation, manufacturing and assembly, and flight test demonstration. These activities include the identification and maturation of hypersonic technologies such as thermal protection systems, seekers, propulsion systems, ground support equipment, mitigation of environmental extremes, and instrumentation. RTCS, LLC conducts system development from concept to flight test demonstration integrating modeling and simulation and test and evaluation to support development of system engineering solutions.
