Responsibilities
- Safely operate various types of vehicles including school buses, shuttle vans, limousines, or personal vehicles for transportation of students.
- Follow all state transportation regulations, safety protocols, and company policies to ensure passenger safety at all times.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to verify mechanical soundness and cleanliness.
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, providing excellent customer service with clear communication and a friendly attitude.
- Maintain accurate logs of trips, passenger counts, and vehicle mileage; report any incidents or safety concerns promptly.
- Adhere to scheduled routes and timing requirements while demonstrating flexibility to accommodate changes or special requests like paratransit services.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience in shuttle driving, delivery driving, bus driving, or limousine service is highly preferred but not necessary.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or personal vehicle delivery is advantageous.
- Familiarity with state transportation regulations and commercial driving requirements.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with passengers, team members, and dispatch personnel.
- Ability to operate different vehicle types including school buses, paratransit vans, or other commercial vehicles confidently upon completed training.
- Basic vehicle maintenance skills for routine inspections and minor repairs when necessary.
